Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB), an architecture, interior design and planning firm with offices in Chicago, San Francisco, and Abu Dhabi needed to develop a comprehensive BIM strategy across projects, offices, and disciplines. Using a workshop-based process, CASE met with SCB employees at all levels within the organization in order to understand current BIM processes and identify any barriers to broader adoption. This enabled CASE to develop a comprehensive BIM implementation strategy that addressed staffing, resourcing, technical infrastructure, training, knowledge management, and project management approaches that addressed the unique technology needs of each office and discipline. As a result, SCB has made several organizational changes to better manage and implement BIM in a more consistent and focused manner.
