In order to comply to a client mandate, FXFOWLE was required to deliver all drawings following a strict naming convention. This requirement was based on a series of prefixes that were specific to each discipline, sheet and drawing revision. The current feature set within Revit Architecture does not allow for this level of control over sheet names and would demand that FXFOWLE rename the extracted drawings manually, a process that would require hundreds of sheets to be renamed for each drawing submission. To eliminate the need for this tedious manual process, CASE developed a custom Revit Architecture add-on that automated the process of naming exported DWG files from custom parameters associated with the titleblock of each sheet. Rather than spending time overriding document names, this custom application has enabled the project team to focus their energy on design development.
