BLDG 2.0 gets denied by Latrobe jury
Unsurprisingly, BLDG 2.0 didn't make it into the second stage of the AIA's Latrobe Prize competition. :-( Unfortunately, we need a few more grey hairs and martinis with the jurors before we're accepted as members of the club. Nothing like paying your dues.
It's especially unfortunate when you see comparable organizations abroad making progress on similar initiatives. I was recently made aware of a tool called CarbonBuzz, which was the result of a collaboration between the RIBA (the UK's equivalency of the AIA), CIBSE (UK's ASHRAE) and the architectural firm Aedas. Similarly focused on the issue of tracking and publishing actual building energy performance, this tool has the potential to become an amazing resource for anyone building in the UK.
Not to be deterred, we're going to continue to promote and seek out potential and sources of funding for BLDG 2.0, if anyone knows of a potential resource, send them our way.
